A New Leaf on Life:

Discovering the Benefits of Art Therapy for Seniors

This workshop offers an interactive approach to understanding the effectiveness of Art Therapy for seniors living in nursing homes, assisted living, adult day cares and similar settings. A brief montage presentation followed with a discussion about Art Therapy and art demo will provide a closer examination. Two “DIY” art projects will also be provided to participants for implementing at their facility. At the completion of this session, each participant will understand how to successfully create and implement therapeutic art sessions that correspond to the mental, physical and spiritual needs of seniors.

Program Objectives:

To understand how Art Therapy can meet the physical and mental needs of seniors
To evaluate the effectiveness of Art Therapy sessions with considerations of the process essentials, such as Balance of Activities, Benefits of Activities, Outcomes, Policies
To experience and learn how to implement a therapeutic art session for seniors

Flying Like An Eagle:

Creative Care Planning for Quadriplegic or Spinal Cord Injured Individuals

This workshop offers an interactive approach to establishing creative care plans to meet the physical and emotional needs of quadriplegic individuals. A PowerPoint presentation followed by a brief discussion of a successful case study and art demo will provide a closer examination. At the completion of this session, each participant will understand how to successfully customize and implement therapeutic art sessions that correspond to the mental, physical and spiritual needs of quadriplegics.

Program Objectives:

To understand the physical and mental perspective of a quadriplegic individual
To discover the benefits of Art Therapy for quadriplegic individuals
To observe a case study that illustrates the artistic process for quadriplegics
To experience and learn how to implement a therapeutic art session for quadriplegic individuals

Recharging Activity Professionals for the New Year!

This workshop offers activity professionals the opportunity to explore innovative ideas for improving their department and enhancing clients’ quality of life. Participants will engage in a therapeutic art session which address creative thinking, self-awareness and career achievement. At the conclusion of this session, each participant will experience an inspiring journey towards self-renewal and professional restoration.
